"CERVICAL SPONDYLITIS AND HOLISTIC TREATMENT"

CERVICAL SPONDYLOSIS”(NECK PAIN)

It is the degenerative changes appear in the disc space between C5-C6 vertebrae. Some time pain felt centrally in the neck and may radiate to the  occiput and confused as migraine headache. Some time pain radiates downward on collar bone, shoulders, arms and hands due to involvement of spinal nerves. In medical system of treatment are medicine, heat compression and a collar bone. Physiotherapist also teachers some physical exercises to the patient. So alternative treatments required.

Press the corresponding Point in back of palm of C5 C6 C7 for 2 minutes twice a day.

         Patient is advised to use a thin pillow and avoid excessive bending of the neck. The rigidity of muscles and defective circulation of blood will be corrected by doing some  asana according to comfort level.

EXERCISES OF CERVICAL SPINE:

Lying :

• Neck stretching and head pushing back, Hold and rest.
• Head turn slowly from side to side.
• Prone lying, trunk supported on forearms, head raise hold and lower slowly.

Sitting:

• Hands clasped behind head, push head into hands, push elbows back and rest.
• Head turn slowly from side to side.
• Head bend slowly from side to side.

HOMEOPATHY:

1. Bryonia 200: two drops once or twice a day only in stiffness of neck.
2. Rhus Tox 200: pain or sprain after sleep or rest.
3. Calcarea carb 200: after rhus tox.
4. Belladonna works well in case of rheumatism or from cold, according to Dr.E.A.farrington.
5. Calcarea phos 6x :four globules thrice a day in case of calcaneal spur.
6. Magnesia phos 200 four times a day and Natrum sulph 6x thrice a day for next six days gives relief in acute cervical spondylitis, according to Dr. Vohra.

            According to Dr. H.G.JAHR- Aconite, Bryonia, Belladonna, Kali carb,  Lycopodium, Causticum, Calcarea and Arsenic are the only remedies through which all the cervical problem can be covered.
